In recent Japan, as increasing in the number of aged person, there are so many patients with multiple illnesses. Also, as changing of our lifestyles, we encounter an increased diversity of environment and suffer from many struggles with chronic symptoms that are difficult to cure. Furthermore, many pharmaceuticals produced new drugs that are associated with various side effects, and are therefore potentially harmful themselves.

Considering these changes, Oriental Medicine, in particular Traditional Japanese Medicine is gaining attention for its universal qualities, and its widely-applicable treatment for curing imbalances that appears in the body. The methods for treatments used in the Oriental Medicine, which include natural herbal decoctions, acupuncture, and moxibustion, are being reappraised as non-invasive ways of revitalizing the body's own healing abilities and overcoming illness.

The Department of Traditional Japanese Medicine is staffed with skilled experts in Oriental Medicine who are also well-versed in the treatment modalities of Western medicine. We also maintain a team of acupuncturists and moxibustion experts and use their skills in combination to treat various symptoms. Where needed, you can be referred to specialists in other departments at Nippon Medical School Hospital, and seek other treatment modalities instead. Outpatient examinations

The Department of Traditional Japanese Medicine is staffed with skilled experts in Oriental medicine who are also well-versed in the treatment modalities of Western medicine. *All examinations and treatments are by appointment only. Most examinations and packages of herbal extracts appointed by the government are covered by insurance, whereas acupuncture, moxibustion, and other specialized and individualized treatments by prescription are not covered by insurance.

We accept new patients and those introduced from other practices, as well as patients from all the departments within Nippon Medical School Hospital. Therefore, our patient pool is very diverse. Our patients include those being treated for multiple ailments and intractable diseases such as malignant tumors (cancer), rheumatism and collagen diseases, chronic kidney inflammation and hepatitis, atopic dermatitis and allergic diseases, gynecological ailments, various viral diseases, and many more.
As needed, various Western medicines are employed concurrently with Oriental medicine, and we are supported by the Department of Radiology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Cardiology, Endocrinology, and Emergency that actively employs leading Western diagnostic methods. We aim to effectively blend Oriental and Western medicine for maximum patient benefit.

Extracts and Decoction from the Department of Traditional Japanese Medicine

A range of Oriental herbal extracts covered by insurance and specially prepared decoctions are used to treat intractable ailments such as malignant tumors associated with cancer, rheumatism and collagen diseases, chronic kidney inflammation and hepatitis, atopic dermatitis and allergic symptoms, gynecological ailments, various viral diseases, and other symptoms, and a wide variety of diagnostics and treatment modalities are also used.
