We provide medical care for acute and chronic renal failure, diabetic nephropathy, chronic glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, kidney issues due to collagen disease, hereditary renal disease, electrolyte imbalance, and other non-surgical treatment for kidney diseases.
We accept about 200 outpatients a week, and provide careful treatment for all kidney diseases and kidney failures. We have about 400 inpatients per year. We provide kidney biopsies as needed (around 60 a year), for diagnosis and treatment.
Recently, a new concept called CKD or Chronic Kidney Disease is gaining advocacy, and we are placing special importance on countermeasures against CKD. Also, we take a proactive stance in providing enzyme replacement therapy for Fabry's disease, a congenital metabolic disease. Additionally, we actively treat various diseases other than kidney diseases through hemocatharsis methods such as plasma exchange.
For diseases that need hemodialysis therapy, we hold a general rule that we treat only inpatients. Every year, hemodialysis therapy is introduced to about 80 patients of chronic renal failure patients, we are introduced to about 200 patients who need maintenance hemodialysis to treat severe complications, and together with acute renal failure patients and temporary maintenance hemodialysis for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with complications from diseases of other organs, we treat about 300 hemodialysis patients per year.
For outpatients who wish to receive maintenance hemodialysis, we have provide this treatment at our Kidney Disease Clinic of Nippon Medical School (21 beds), located right near the Honkomagome station of the subway Nanboku-line, which is the nearest station to our affiliated hospital.
