In Department of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism, we treat lifestyle-related diseases such as diabetes, dyslipidemia (hyperlipidemia), obesity and hypertension, as well as atherosclerotic diseases. We also examine endocrine disorders such as the pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, and gonadal diseases.
We provide active medical care for dyslipidemia and obesity, and we have been rated as a department that practices comprehensive treatment of lifestyle-related diseases. In addition, our diabetes specialists strictly control Type 1 diabetes using continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII) devices, and offer special therapy for obesity with ultra-low-calorie diets.
We often see the patients with pituitary disorder (Acromegaly, Cushing's disease), thyroid disease (Graves' disease, Hashimoto's disease, thyroid tumors), parathyroid disease (calcium disorders), pancreatic endocrine tumor (insulinoma), adrenal disease (aldosteronism, pheochromocytoma), and gonadal disorder. In addition to the examination, diagnosis, and treatment by experienced endocrinologists, appropriate examinations and surgical treatments are carried out in close cooperation with the endocrine surgery, neurosurgery, and radiology departments in our hospital. Treatment outcomes including surgery are not inferior to those of leading European and US facilities.
On a specialized consultation, we treat dyslipidemia such as familiar hypercholesterolemia and gestational diabetes. All of us examine a patient with the aims of rapid diagnosis and the most advanced forms of treatment.
Our department holds monthly diabetes classes. In general, the classes are scheduled for the second Saturday of each month. Please confirm the date, time and venue by checking this website: http://www.nms.ac.jp/enme/
