For Patients Seeking Medical Treatment in Japan

Our hospital was first certified as a member of JIH in April 2017. Since then, we have welcomed many medical travelers from various countries, including China.

To ensure that international patients feel secure receiving treatment and undergoing examinations at our hospital, we established the Division of International Medical Service Promotion, which provides dedicated support for foreign patients.

1.How to Apply

Please note that medical travelers are seen by appointment only. In addition, if you wish to receive medical treatment in Japan, you will need to obtain a medical stay visa. To apply for this visa, you must provide a Certificate of Identity issued by a guarantor registered with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry or the Japan Tourism Agency (such as a medical coordination company or travel agency), as well as a Certificate of Planned Medical Visits issued by the medical institution.
Therefore, if you wish to visit Japan to receive treatment at our hospital, please apply through a medical coordination company that serves as a guarantor organization. This will ensure a smooth process from making an appointment to obtaining a medical stay visa and receiving medical care.
If you do not have a medical coordinator, please refer to the list of  registered guarantor organizations on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Japan website.

3.Eligibility for Acceptance

Based on the submitted documents, the doctor at our hospital will determine whether we can accept the patient. If we are able to accept the patient, we will arrange a consultation date that best suits your preferences.

After reviewing the documents and the patient’s information, we may recommend starting with an online second opinion instead of immediately planning for medical treatment in Japan. If, after the online second opinion, you still wish to come to Japan for treatment, we will proceed to schedule a consultation.

4.About the Medical Stay Visa

If you wish to receive treatment in Japan, you will need to obtain a Medical Stay Visa. This visa is issued for patients coming to Japan for medical purposes and their accompanying family members.

Once your acceptance at our hospital is confirmed and your appointment date is finalized, please coordinate with your medical coordinator to proceed with the visa application and travel arrangements.

5.Flow of the day of Examination

On the day of your appointment, please come to the General Information Desk on the first floor of our hospital at least 30 minutes before your appointment time. If you do not speak Japanese, please be sure to bring a medical interpreter with you. Please note that if you do not have a medical interpreter with you, you will not be able to receive a medical examination on the day of your visit.

6.Payment of medical expenses

In general, patients traveling to Japan are required to pay their medical fees in advance. Once your treatment at our hospital is approved, we will provide you with an estimate of the medical expenses. Please transfer the estimated amount to our designated account prior to your arrival in Japan. (If you are working with a coordinating company, please confirm the details with them.)

✔ If the actual medical expenses are less than the amount you paid in advance, we will refund the difference.

✔ If the actual medical expenses exceed the amount paid in advance, you will need to pay the remaining balance in cash or by credit card before your return. UnionPay cards are also accepted.

✔ If you are paying by bank transfer, please complete the payment within one week of receiving the invoice.

Our hospital accepts the following credit cards.
